Vision Statement

Provide the students of Conotton Valley with the best education possible.

Mission Statement

GRIT - Goal-oriented, Responsible decisions, Intentional actions, Tested results

Since 1951, Conotton Valley Union Local Schools has served the learning needs of the tri-county region made up of Harrison, Carroll, and Tuscarawas counties.  Situated between the villages of Bowerston and Sherrodsville, Conotton Valley Schools educates nearly 450 students from grades Pre-K through 12 and has just over 70 dedicated district employees.

The 2016-17 school year at Conotton Valley Union Local School District will look and feel differently for many stakeholders due, in large part, to the completion of an 11,000-square-foot addition to the existing junior/senior high building.  The $2.48 million expansion project, which started in the fall of 2015, will enable all CV students from preschool through the 12th grade to attend classes at one location.  According to superintendent, Mr. Todd Herman, “As a result of the cooperative efforts of so many, our district is opening a new chapter with the addition of the elementary wing.  The numerous benefits range from improved building safety to increased efficiency with our personnel.”  As a result of the physical enhancements, the Conotton Valley school district  has vastly improved its ability to serve all students for the future.

A second dynamic that will impact the Conotton Valley district is FranklinCovey’s The Leader In Me initiative that kicks off this year.  Conotton Valley Schools has pledged to implement a comprehensive program focused on developing 21st century leadership skills with both educators and learners.  As a result of the “whole school transformation,” Conotton Valley’s culture will be one of student empowerment and discovery that taps into the leadership skills possessed by every child.

We take great pride in our 21st century driven instruction, expanding curriculum, inviting extra-curricular activities, and our continued commitment of infuse technology into the learning process.  To take in-depth look at what Conotton Valley Schools can offer, we invite you to explore our district website or come to campus for a visit.
