it is almost totally dark at my house. About 90% of the sun has been eclipsed by the moon! Awesome!!! #alwayslearing #SOAR Here's a math question, how much of the sun needs to covered to reach 100% coverage?

At 2:55 pm, approximately 75% of the sun has been eclipsed by the moon! There won't be an eclipse like this until 2044! #SOAR. How old will you be in 2044???

I have been using my Eclipse Safety Glasses, and I can now see that over half of the eclipse has taken place. it continues to be more and more as each minute passes. I wonder what it will look like at 3:15 p.m.?
Mr. Zucal

Using your Eclipse Safety Gasses, you can an now see the eclipse starting. Partial coverage has begun! History is being made. Using your glasses to monitor progress, you can record the time of day and how much of the solar eclipse is taking place. Keep recording between now and 3:30 pm. #SOAR

Good morning! Due to flooding and many of our roads still being impassable, the Conotton Valley Union Local School District will be closed again today, Friday April 5, 2024. Thank you so very much for your support, cooperation, and understanding during this challenging time. Rockets will always soar!

Good morning! The Conotton Valley Union Local School District is cancelling classes for today, Thursday, April 4, 2024 due to rising waters and severe flooding impacting our bus routes. Please be safe. #SOAR

Good evening! The Conotton Valley Union Local School District will be on a 2-hour delayed start for tomorrow, Wednesday, April 3. A determination will be made by 7:15 a.m. as to whether or not we maintain the delayed start status or cancel for the day. Thanks so very much for your support!

Good morning! Please know I, along with our administrative staff, are closely monitoring the potential for severe weather conditions across our local area. The administration team will be attending a webinar this morning at 10:30 hosted by the National Weather Service. We will then meet to discuss and coordinate the preparedness plan for the district. The health, safety, and welfare of our students and staff will always be a top priority. We will be proactive in managing this situation! Thanks for your support and cooperation!

Both our baseball and softball teams defeated the Malvern Hornets in action here at CV. #SOAR Great job!!

Buckeye Career Center will be dismissing at 9:30 a.m. due to a power outage. We will transport students by bus from the career center and use the standard drop-off procedures. For parents unable to pick their child up here at Conotton Valley, we'll supervise them until arrangement can be made to transport them home.

Congratulations to our students at Buckeye Career Center who were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society earlier today! We are proud of you!! #SOAR

Today students across the State of Ohio, including our students at CV, took part in the Statewide Tornado Test. Here is some information about an app the Red Cross has released to improve emergency preparedness.

From the Halls of CV
What a busy time of the year. It is hard to believe we have started the 4th quarter. Here at CV we have been celebrating kindness with our students and rewarding students who have been caught being respectful. It is fun to see students and staff excited about helping others. We were able to donate to our local food bank and humane society. We also donated items for the ER at Trinity hospital and to Golden Age Retreat. We are very proud of our students who helped organize those drives and brought in items to help others. The sunshine makes all of us think of summer but here at school we still have a lot to do to prepare for state testing and other end of the year events.
We are so proud of our students as the end of the school year brings chances to show off some of their hard work and all they have achieved this year. Spring sports are starting, and we took some time to celebrate our winter sports athletes and their dedication and skills they showed off on the courts, lanes, and mats. We are also getting ready to experience the eclipse and have events planned in the middle and high school to educate the students on the eclipse as well as safe viewing strategies.
Conferences will be held Monday, March 25th so students will not have school that day. Please call the school to schedule a time to meet. We also have a 2 hour delay Friday, March 22nd so teachers can attend training. Thank you for your continued support. I appreciate all you do to help support our goals and to help us provide the best education possible for your students.
