This is a message from the Rockets! Many of you may be aware that a message has been sent to schools across Ohio and Texas pertaining to a bomb threat by a terrorist organization. Please find the following statement from the FBI: “The FBI is aware of the numerous hoax incidents wherein a bomb threat at a school is made. The FBI takes hoax threats very seriously because it puts innocent people at risk. While we have no information to indicate a specific and credible threat, we will continue to work with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to gather, share, and act upon threat information as it comes to our attention. We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any and all suspicious activity and/or individuals to law enforcement immediately.”
As Superintendent, I was in our school building on Sunday, December 10, and found no suspicious activity. We will perform a building sweep prior to student and staff arrival. Again, we do not find this threat to be credible. We are confident the goal of the message was to induce a panic. As always, we will be vigilant with our safety efforts. The Carroll County Sheriff's Department is aware of the threat and is prepared to fully assist us if we deem it is necessary. At this time, there is no reason to believe that there is a need to postpone or cancel classes. Thank you.
