Students in grades 6-12 joined our Student Council on March 28th for a Hollywood style movie premiere. We had the best evening seeing our girls and their escorts enjoy some quality time together. Each couple enjoyed popcorn and a drink during the movie and learned the “progressive step” of the Waltz. Many laughs and smiles were shared and our Student Council hopes to make this an annual event!

Students in grades 6-10 who met the effort rubric requirements during the ELA OST last week were rewarded with some sweet treats this afternoon. Way to go Rockets, continue to SOAR!

Enjoy this week's Rocket News! #SOAR

On March 26th, the High School Government class spent the day in Columbus, Ohio, learning about the way our state government works. They started the day with a tour of the Ohio Supreme Court, hearing about landmark cases including one that happened in Harrison County, and visited the courtroom to see where these important decisions are made. After that, the class walked to the Vern Riffe State Office Tower and met with Representative Don Jones of the 95th District and Representative Monica Robb Blasdel of the 79th District where the students were treated to lunch and had the opportunity to ask questions about the role of the House of Representatives in Ohio. After lunch, the students traveled to the Ohio Statehouse where they were recognized as guests of Representative Jones and Representative Robb Blasdel during the House Session, had the opportunity to see the Ohio Senate in action, and toured the Statehouse to learn about its incredible history. We had a wonderful time learning about our state government and the class would like to extend its extreme gratitude to Representative Jones for providing our students with lunch and both representatives for their hospitality. #SOAR
