Enjoy this week's Rocket News! #SOAR

On March 26th, the High School Government class spent the day in Columbus, Ohio, learning about the way our state government works. They started the day with a tour of the Ohio Supreme Court, hearing about landmark cases including one that happened in Harrison County, and visited the courtroom to see where these important decisions are made. After that, the class walked to the Vern Riffe State Office Tower and met with Representative Don Jones of the 95th District and Representative Monica Robb Blasdel of the 79th District where the students were treated to lunch and had the opportunity to ask questions about the role of the House of Representatives in Ohio. After lunch, the students traveled to the Ohio Statehouse where they were recognized as guests of Representative Jones and Representative Robb Blasdel during the House Session, had the opportunity to see the Ohio Senate in action, and toured the Statehouse to learn about its incredible history. We had a wonderful time learning about our state government and the class would like to extend its extreme gratitude to Representative Jones for providing our students with lunch and both representatives for their hospitality. #SOAR

If you, or someone you know or love, is struggling with mental health issues, support is only a phone call away. The National Suicide Lifeline-dial 988- offers individuals the opportunity to talk and connect with experts who can assist with the daily struggles and concerns that sometimes make life difficult. We at Conotton Valley share this important resource because we care about our students, families, and community.
Last week, the high school government class was tasked with solving puzzles
to crack the secret code about the United States Supreme Court in an
"escape room" activity. The students became puzzle masters as they learned
about the process in which a case is heard by the Supreme Court, checks and
balances in the Supreme Court, as well as the way justices are chosen.
While it became a competition within the class, all of the students were
winners in solving the clues to "escape"! #SOAR
